About Stink Eye
A fun, lightweight system monitor that lives in your macOS menu bar.
What Is Stink Eye?
Stink Eye is a macOS menu bar application that monitors your system resources using a pair of animated eyes. The eyes follow your cursor, blink naturally, and change their appearance when something needs your attention — like low disk space, high CPU usage, or a dying battery.
It monitors six key system resources in real time: disk space, memory (RAM), CPU usage, battery level, network connectivity, and thermal state. When any resource crosses a threshold you set, Stink Eye alerts you with customisable notifications — so you can act before problems become serious.
Who Is It For?
Stink Eye is for anyone who uses a Mac and wants a quick, visual way to keep tabs on their system without opening Activity Monitor or checking multiple menus. Whether you are a developer, creative professional, student, or everyday user — Stink Eye keeps you informed at a glance.
How It Works
- A small pair of animated eyes appears in your menu bar
- The eyes track your cursor as you work
- Six independent monitors run in the background, checking system resources
- When a threshold is crossed, the eyes flash red and an alert is triggered
- You can view detailed status windows for each monitor from the menu
- Alert history is logged and can be exported to CSV
